From Kendra Heimbuck, Executive Director

I recently submitted my resignation to the board to pursue a professional opportunity and new challenges as the Director of Operations at The Brinton Museum. The decision for this transition did not come easily as I am extremely proud of all that SAGE has accomplished during my time as Executive Director. I have tremendously valued my time at SAGE and the relationships I built with our Members, patrons, board and staff. I could not have asked for a better place to call “home” as my husband and I moved to Sheridan and began setting down roots in this vibrant and creative community.

I want to give my deepest gratitude to all who have been so supportive of the organization and of me personally during my time at SAGE: staff, board members, and, of course, our Artist Members and patrons. Without you, the organization would not be as strong and lively as it is. I am so honored to have been the leader of this incredible organization and will watch with much excitement and anticipation as it continues making strides in building and inspiring community through the visual arts. All my best,

Kendra Heimbuck, Executive Director, SAGE Community Arts

From Mikole Soto, Board President

The Board wants to take this opportunity to express our deepest gratitude for Kendra’s time at SAGE. During her tenure, Kendra played a critical role in furthering SAGE’s mission in the community and took major strides in fulfilling strategic initiatives the board set. Even during the difficult times this pandemic has caused us all, Kendra’s leadership allowed SAGE to remain strong. Kendra made great achievements in improving our financial sustainability, in ensuring the professionalism of the art center through standardized operational procedures, and in furthering programs and services which help our community to See, Create and Promote the arts.

More than anything, we are excited for Kendra to take this next step in her career. We are proud of the value SAGE continues to provide to furthering Sheridan’s art community. SAGE has always hoped to serve as a platform for artists and art/museum professionals to develop and grow. Kendra is an excellent example of what we strive for at SAGE and we know that Kendra will continue to do great things for this community.

Over the next few months, we will be conducting a search to find the new SAGE Executive Director. During this transition period, it is our priority to find the best individual to lead, while still maintaining a stable and effective organization. We will share the job announcement soon and ask for your help in identifying candidates who can help SAGE continue along this successful trajectory. If you are interested in applying, please be on the lookout for our job announcement and visit our website for more information.

Again, we cannot thank Kendra enough for the dedication, passion, and motivation she has given SAGE over the past 14 months. She will be greatly missed by the staff, Board, Artist Members and partners alike. If you have any questions or concerns during this transition process, please do not hesitate to reach out to me directly at mbede24@gmail.com.

Sincerely,

Mikole Soto, Board President, SAGE Community Arts
